MontPhoto International Nature Photography Contest 2027

Asociación MontPhoto has not announced a 2027 contest. On 26 October 2026 its rules page still read “Welcome to MontPhoto 2026”, and its latest news, of 8 October 2026, says only that it is already working on the MontPhoto Fest 2027 (“La organización ya trabaja en el MontPhoto Fest 2027”).

Organiser Asociación MontPhoto (Associació MontPhoto), a non-profit association under Spanish law, Travessia Mas Romeu 3, 17310 Lloret de Mar (Girona), Spain · The organiser’s page ↗

What the organiser says now · checked

  • Rules page: “Bienvenidos a MontPhoto 2026” (Spanish) and “Welcome to MontPhoto 2026” (English). The download page lists only the 2026 rules.
  • News of 8 October 2026: “La organización ya trabaja en el MontPhoto Fest 2027. Nos vemos el año que viene”. That refers to the festival; no 2027 contest rules, dates or fee are published.

Last edition · MontPhoto 2026, the 30th edition

The rules give no opening date; the news of 11 January 2026 said entries were already open. The rules PDF gives the close as “March 23th 2026 at 23.59 GMT+1”, while the FAQ says the call “closes automatically when the indicated day ends in the last time meridian (UTC +12)”. The organiser states both.

Fee: “The general entry fee is 25 € until 28th February, then 30 € throughout the month of March”; free for under-18s and MontPhoto Community members.

RAW files were requested on 25 May 2026. The prize-giving was on 2 October 2026 in Lloret de Mar, during the festival of 2–4 October 2026.

What the latest rules say

From the MontPhoto 2026 rules. The next edition’s rules may differ.

  • AI and editing: photographs are not accepted for “Alteration or modification of pixels in specific areas of the image (deletion, suppression, cloning or manipulation) that clearly modify the originality of the image may it be manually or with the use of AI.” (English rules page; the PDF words it slightly differently). Neither the rules nor the FAQ has a separate clause on fully AI-generated images.
  • Original files: “Organizers will request the RAW files of ALL the photographs that reach the final phase of the contest on May 25th, 2026. From this date, participants will have 10 days to upload their RAW files”. “Should the RAW files not be presented on time, then the image would be disqualified”.
  • Eligibility: “open to all amateur and professional nature photographers worldwide.” Organisers, volunteers, sponsors, jury members and their families may not take part. The youth category is for those “under the age of 18 up till the contest registration deadline”.
  • Entries: up to 25 images in the general categories, plus one portfolio and one storytelling of 10–15 images each. Domestic and farm animals and cultivated plants are not allowed except in categories D (Ecological report) and F (Portfolio).

The 2026 rules let the organiser ask for your RAW or original files. Compare your RAW with the photo you plan to enter, free and in your browser.

WinPhoto adds a full verified record when the organiser publishes the 2027 rules.
