  • Contest page, headed “Siena International Photo Awards 2027”: “Entries are open: deadline January 7th, 2027” (Italian page: “Sono aperte le iscrizioni: deadline 7 gennaio 2027”).
  • Siena Awards home page: “Start date: October 11, 2026” and “Deadline: January 7, 2027”.
  • No rules page or PDF labelled 2027 is published. The live Rules & FAQ page states no edition year, and its early-bird line still names “December 1st, 2025” beside an upload cut-off of “DECEMBER 2nd, 2026”, so we do not treat its fee lines as confirmed 2027 terms.

What the latest rules say

From the live Rules & FAQ page, which states no edition year. The next edition’s rules may differ.

  • AI (rule 14): “The 'Siena International Photo Awards' competition does not accept AI-generated photos for submission. Only photographs captured and edited by humans, without the use of AI algorithms or any other form of artificial intelligence, are eligible for entry.”
  • Original files (rule 13): “Participants who are listed in the final round are requested to submit the RAW/original camera files of their photographs for nomination.” Editing: “key elements of the composition cannot be added or removed”.
  • Eligibility (rule 1): “Siena International Photo Awards competition is open to professional and amateur photographers.” The FAQ: “there are no restrictions on the date of a photograph” and “both published and unpublished work is accepted”.
  • Fees as the page shows them: “1 image free to enter”, “3 images (including the free one) € 30”, “Each additional image € 10”, “Story-Telling € 35”, “Videos € 35”.
  • Rights: “Siena Awards recognizes you retain full ownership of the copyright in each photograph that you have submitted.” (rule 9). Rule 10 lets the organisers use “the entered images for promotional purposes related to the photo contest and the Siena Awards Festival, such as catalogues, calendars, videos, websites, and official merchandising”, free of charge.

Siena’s current rules let the organiser ask for your RAW or original files. Compare your RAW with the photo you plan to enter, free and in your browser.
