Convert HEIC photos to JPG
Choose one or more HEIC photos and a quality. Each one becomes a JPG you can download, made on your device.
Your photo stays on your device: nothing is uploaded.
Convert HEIC photos to JPG
The JPG copies carry no EXIF or GPS data, and their colours are saved as sRGB.
In browsers that cannot open HEIC photos themselves, the page decodes them with libheif and libde265, served unmodified from this site under the LGPL-3.0. Source: libheif 1.23.2, libde265 1.0.15, libheif-js 1.23.2.
How to use it
- Set the JPG quality. 92 keeps the photo close to the original; a lower number makes a smaller file.
- Choose one or more HEIC or HEIF photos, or drop them on the box.
- Download each JPG, or all of them in one zip file.

Questions
- What is a HEIC file?
- The photo format iPhones save by default, also used by some Android phones. It keeps a photo in less space than a JPG, but many websites, apps and upload forms only take JPG.
- Why does the page load a decoder?
- Safari opens HEIC photos itself. Other browsers can't, so the first time you choose a HEIC photo in one of them, the page loads a HEIC decoder (libheif, about 2 MB) from this site. It runs on your device; your photos are not sent anywhere.
- Does the JPG keep the date, camera and location?
- No. The JPG carries no EXIF or GPS data, so it doesn't say where or when the photo was taken. Keep the HEIC original if you need them.
- Are the colours kept?
- As closely as a JPG allows. Recent iPhones record photos in the wider Display P3 colour space; the JPG is converted to sRGB, which most sites expect, so the most saturated colours can come out slightly less intense.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. The tool runs in your browser: the photo is read and changed on your device and is never sent to WinPhoto or anyone else.
